Sunil Narine, The Third Bowler To Take 600 T20 Wickets
Sunil Narine has added another major milestone to his storied T20 career. The West Indies and Kolkata Knight Riders mystery spinner has become only the third bowler in history to take 600 wickets in T20 cricket.
The 37-year-old reached the landmark during Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ ILT20 clash against Sharjah Warriorz, removing Tom Abell in his first over of the new season.
Narine now joins Rashid Khan and Dwayne Bravo in the exclusive 600 T20 wickets club.
Rashid remains the leading wicket-taker in T20s with 681 wickets in 500 matches, striking every 16.7 balls. The Afghanistan legend averages 18.34 at an economy of 6.59.
Bravo, who retired in 2024, sits second with 631 wickets in 582 games, striking every 17.7 balls. He has an economy of 8.26 and averages 24.40.
Narine crossed 600 wickets in his 568th T20 match, averaging 22.04 with a superb economy rate of 6.16, the best among 117 bowlers with at least 200 wickets in the format. He has a wicket after every 21.4 balls and added two more wickets in his next ILT20 outing, taking his tally to 602.

Narine has one T20 5-wicket haul, achieved in the 2012 IPL, when he became the first overseas spinner to claim a five-for in the tournament. A year later, he took his only T20 hat-trick, also against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). He has taken the most wickets in the format against Punjab Kings (36 wickets).
A key figure across Knight Riders franchises worldwide, Narine has taken 210 T20 wickets for KKR, the most by any player for a single franchise (after Malinga’s 195 for Mumbai Indians). He will add more wickets to his tally as he has been retained by KKR ahead of the IPL 2026 season. He has also dismissed Rohit Sharma 10 times, sharing the record for the most dismissals of a batter in T20s.
At Eden Gardens, Narine has taken 72 wickets, the most by any bowler at the iconic venue. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the Caribbean Premier League with 133 wickets, 102 of which came for Trinbago Knight Riders.
