All-rounders Cameron Green and Venkatesh Iyer headline IPL 2026 Auction

IPL 2026 Auction: 1,355 Players Register For Just 77 Slots

The IPL 2026 mini-auction will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, with a massive 1,355 players registering for the one-day event. The list includes 1,062 Indian players and 293 overseas names, making it one of the largest pools in recent years.

Several high-profile Indian players like Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Deep, Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, Umesh Yadav and KS Bharat headline the domestic group.

A total of 45 players have listed themselves at the maximum ₹2 crore base price. Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer are the only two Indian players to feature in the top bracket.

However, one name is missing. Glenn Maxwell, who has played 141 IPL matches across 13 seasons, has not registered his name. He was playing for IPL 2025 finalists, Punjab Kings, last season.

England allrounder Moeen Ali has also opted out. He will play the Pakistan Super League, similar to Faf du Plessis, who recently announced he would opt out of IPL 2026. KKR’s star allrounder Andre Russell was released before retention day. He retired from the IPL and joined KKR’s support staff as their “Power Coach.”

Among the 10 IPL franchises, Kolkata Knight Riders have the biggest purse with ₹64.3 crore. Chennai Super Kings follow with ₹43.4 crore.

With Russell gone, KKR could make a bid for Cameron Green, whose batting flexibility and seam-bowling adds balance.

Australian trio Cameron Green, Matthew Short and Steve Smith headline the international group. Josh Inglis, despite uncertainty about availability due to his wedding, has entered the list.

Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan, who has played 71 IPL games across nine seasons, has listed himself at ₹1 crore.

Players from across 14 countries like Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, USA and even Malaysia have registered.
