The IPL 2026 Auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, 2025.

IPL 2026 Auction: 350 Players To Go Under The Hammer

The wait is finally over. The IPL 2026 auction will now feature 350 players. The final number was reached by the board after multiple discussions with the 10 franchises. The mini auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16, starting at 1 PM UAE time (2:30 PM IST).

The 10 IPL teams will compete for 77 available squad spots, including 31 overseas slots. The highest base price remains ₹2 crore and 40 players have entered with this top reserve price.

IPL 2026 Auction List

A total of 1,390 players initially registered for the IPL 2026 auction, but only 350 have made the final shortlist. The list includes 240 Indian players (including 16 capped Indians) and 110 overseas players. Of these, 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players add fresh talent to the auction pool.

The final pool also features 35 new entrants who were a part of the initial list. One big addition is Quinton de Kock. He was requested by a franchise. De Kock recently hit a century against India in the ODI series. His base price is now ₹1 crore, half of his previous bracket. KKR released him after a poor 2025 season.

Sri Lankan players Kusal Perera, Binura Fernando, Dunith Wellalage and Traveen Mathew also appear as fresh additions.

The auction will start with capped players grouped by batters, all-rounders, wicketkeepers, fast bowlers and spinners. The uncapped players will follow. Early in the lineup are big names such as Cameron Green, Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan and David Miller. Cameroon Green is a hot topic and the Australian is wanted by a number of franchises.

After the first 70 players, the event will shift into an accelerated phase to speed up proceedings of the one-day mini auction.

The 10 franchises will enter the auction with a combined purse of ₹237.55 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders have the biggest budget at ₹64.30 crore, followed by Chennai Super Kings with ₹43.40 crore.
