5 Youngsters Stealing the Spotlight in IPL 2026

The IPL 2026 season has already produced a new set of stars. Young players have stepped up early during the season and made an impact in all departments.

From aggressive batting to clutch performances under pressure, this new generation has delivered consistently. A few of these young stars are also in the orange cap contention, as things stand at the start of the season.

Many of these players have taken responsibility even when senior names have struggled. Let’s check out the most impactful young guns of IPL 2026.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi in IPL 2026 (RR)

Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to dominate the top order for RR with his fearless batting approach.

The 15-year-old scored 252 runs in 7 matches in IPL 2025 at a strike rate of 200+. After a solid foundation year in 2025, he has carried that form into IPL 2026.

He started the season with a 15-ball fifty against CSK, one of the fastest knocks this season. He followed it with attacking innings against Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. Against MI, he scored 39 off 14 and even smashed Jasprit Bumrah for two sixes, showing no fear. 

In IPL 2026 so far, Vaibhav has consistently provided fast starts in the powerplay. His intent from ball one has helped Rajasthan Royals dominate early overs and set the tone. Most recently, he scored 78 off 26 at a massive 300 strike rate against RCB.

His performances across age-group cricket, domestic matches and IPL continue to build his reputation as one of India’s brightest prospects.

Sameer Rizvi (DC)

Sameer Rizvi has turned his IPL career around with two strong performances this season.

He first made headlines in the UP T20 League, which led to CSK signing him for INR 8.4 crore in IPL 2024. After a quiet season and release, Delhi Capitals picked him up.

Rizvi ended IPL 2025 with a half-century and has built on that momentum. Despite an average Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he has forced his way into the XI this season.

In IPL 2026, he has delivered back-to-back match-winning knocks under pressure. He scored 70 off 47 vs LSG and then 90 off 51 vs MI. He has played key middle-order roles, especially when DC lost early wickets early in the game.

His ability to absorb pressure and finish games has made him one of the standout youngsters this season.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi in IPL 2026 (KKR)

Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been one of the few positives for KKR in IPL 2026, stepping up when many seniors haven’t been able to.

The 21-year-old has taken on wicketkeeping duties, which secured his place in the XI. He has also delivered with the bat.

He scored back-to-back half-centuries at the top of the order against MI & SRH, earning a promotion ahead of Cameron Green in the second match. 

Raghuvanshi has shown maturity in the powerplay. He can attack when needed and also stabilise the innings. Recently, he scored 45 off 33 against LSG.

KKR’s faith in him reflects their long-term plans, and he has responded with consistent performances.

Ayush Mhatre (CSK)

Ayush Mhatre has impressed with his fearless batting in the CSK top order.

The 18-year-old, who helped India win the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, made headlines at Chepauk last season.

He scored a fluent 73 off 43 against Punjab Kings, becoming the youngest player to score a fifty at Chepauk for CSK.

Mhatre has shown strong intent in the powerplay when Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad have failed. He attacks bowlers early and keeps the scoreboard moving. Recently, he scored 59 off 36 against DC in CSK’s first win of the season. 

In IPL 2026, he has played key roles in giving CSK solid starts, especially when the middle order struggled in previous matches.

Prince Yadav (LSG)

Prince Yadav has emerged as a key bowler for LSG in IPL 2026. He was picked in the IPL 2025 mega auction after impressing in domestic cricket with his pace and control.

With LSG’s pace attack hit by injuries earlier, Prince got his chance. Even after the return of players like Mohammed Shami, Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan, he has retained his spot.

He delivered crucial wickets against Delhi Capitals with 2/20 and with 2/34 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. He hasn’t gone wicketless in any match so far. Recently, he then took 1 wicket each against KKR and GT.

Prince has shown he can bowl in all phases, including the Powerplay and death overs. His consistency in line and length has made him a reliable option.

Youngsters in IPL 2026 

The IPL 2026 season has clearly shown the rise of young talent. These players are not just filling gaps but winning matches for their teams.
